Wellesley seniors lose home away from home
Martin Smith waters his cherry tomato plants every day. Since April, the 85-year-old has been watching the fruits grow from seedlings into small, green balls. The tomatoes will be ripe enough to eat in a few weeks, but Smith won’t get to see, or eat, the final product.

Hybrid: The newest variation for Wellesley High School
Wellesley -First came “the Hub” and “the Forum.” Now, Wellesley can add another name to that list: the hybrid. That is the term State Treasurer Timothy P. Cahill is using to describe the proposed new Wellesley High School building. Because of its projected enrollment size (1,600 students, vs. the state’s model-school criterion of between 900 and 1,300) as well as nearby wetlands, the new school will not technically be a part of the treasurer’s pilot model school program.

Wellesley -Police say a Wellesley man had bad intentions yesterday when he went to an America Street home armed with a baseball bat and a pellet gun looking for another man.

Wellesley School Committee cuts more than 24,000 feet from WHS
Wellesley -The Wellesley School Committee voted on its final space reductions this week, cutting 24,527 square feet, including 2,000 square feet for a student union. The reductions allow the school’s educational program to fit into 280,000 gross square feet, the number agreed upon by both the town and the state for an all-new high school that will be built at a cost of between $100 million and $110 million.

Wellesley and state agree on scaled down plan
Wellesley -Wellesley and the state have come to an agreement regarding the final plan for Wellesley High School. As things stand now, an all-new, 280,000 gross square foot high school will be built at a cost of between $100 million and $110 million for design and construction.
